Mmm... Coffee. Note to self: paint something celebrating the xanthine alkaloid that I exalt above all others, the milky, hot elixir that allows me to appreciate being alive!

In the spirit of randomly and irrelevantly cataloging my surroundings, here's a list of birds I've seen in the bay today (close enough to ID w/o binoculars or anything, I was just going for a walk...):
Barrow's goldeneye, common goldeneye, red breasted merganser, horned grebe, common loon, glaucous-winged gull, mew gull, a flock of what looked like some kind of scoter, but they were too far away to see...

It's winter. It's cold. It's wet. I am loitering at this coffee shop for those three reasons.
